Mental Health Awareness Blog

The month of May is dedicated as Mental Health Awareness Month to help educate the public and raise awareness about the importance of mental health. CARS partners with a variety of nonprofit organizations focused on providing support programs, preventative care, resources while also working to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. As mental illness can be difficult to navigate, we would like to highlight a few of our partners who provide a variety of resources for those living with mental health conditions.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. What started as a group of families gathered around a kitchen table, has grown into the nation's leading voice on mental health. Today, NAMI in an association with hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and volunteers work to educate, raise awareness and provide resources to families and individuals dealing with mental illness.

CARS is partnered with 5 branches of the NAMI organization:

            NAMI Greater Houston

            NAMI Marin County

            NAMI San Diego

            NAMI of Southern Arizona

            NAMI Northern Virginia
