Autism Charity Combines Forces with Car Donation Program
Middle Village, New York: Play4Autism, a children’s charity located in New York City, defines their mission as increasing the public's awareness and acceptance of Autism, while improving the quality of life for autistic children. Now, they have partnered with the car donation charity CARS, or Charitable Auto Rides and Services, to achieve their goals and introduce children on the Autism Spectrum and their families to their Kidz in Action Program.
According to Play4Autism, their Kidz in Action Program uses team-playing and physical activities to improve children’s self-esteem and social interaction. This can increase their communication and leadership skills, as well as teach them how to sustain regular lifelong physical activity for a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life.
President and Founder of Play4Autism, Greg Vasicek, says that there is nothing like working to benefit the children who need it. “Just seeing a smile on a child's face after tossing a football around for five minutes and the proud look (and some tears) of his mother, is what it's all about,” he said. "With support from CARS, our new partner, we will be able to further spread awareness about autism, plus continue to offer hope to children and their families with the opening of our first Kidz into Action Community Center”.
The partnership of nonprofit group Charitable Adult Rides and Services Inc. with Play4Autism aims to provide donors with the opportunity to get rid of their old cars, boats, and ATV’s, while contributing to the monetary needs of the children’s nonprofit organization. Donors are completely assisted through the donation process to provide free towing and a tax break opportunity.
These donations of unwanted vehicles will provide children who participate in Play4Autism’s programs with the support and encouragement they need to develop much needed skills. Proceeds from the sale of your donated vehicle go directly toward the organization, and will help these children in areas of sensory issues, behavior, cognition, perceptual/motor skills, self-reliance, and self-determination.
