Congratulations St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!

CARS would like to congratulate St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for being named the first Collaborating Centre for Childhood Cancer by the World Health Organization (WHO). It is a well-deserved honor.

“St. Jude is committed to ensuring that all children with cancer have access to quality care regardless of where they live. With this partnership, we have a unique opportunity to accelerate progress against the disease and change how the childhood cancers are treated everywhere in the world.” – James R. Downing, M.D., St. Jude president and CEO

This month, CARS enjoyed a visit to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to see their work first-hand. St. Jude is
an organization helping in the most incredible way and a legacy of people who care about their community. Not only are they committed to the detection and treatment of childhood cancer, but the research manifested in their labs is shared around the world at no cost.

“We are also a nonprofit, and as we met both the St. Jude staff, toured the facility, and got to understand the nuances of their mission, the passion of our staff grew. It’s not hard to have a great deal of respect and awe for what St. Jude accomplishes, and the way they do it.  When I think of St. Jude, words like dignity, integrity, and mission come to mind. Working with St. Jude has been inspiring for both our staff and those who are associated with us.”– Howard Pearl, CEO.”
