A Vehicle Transfer Notification is REQUIRED and must be completed within 30 days from the vehicle pick-up date.

There are 4 ways in Alaska to notify the DMV that you have donated your car: online, in person, via email or by mail. You can find more information and forms for each notification method below:

1. TO COMPLETE THE ALASKA SELLER'S NOTICE OF SALE OR TRANSFER OF VEHICLE ONLINE:

*PREFERRED METHOD* If possible, we highly recommend completing forms online instead of by mail, so you may easily save and print out a copy for your records that includes a date/timestamp and ensures that it has been received by the DMV.

2. TO COMPLETE THE SELLER'S NOTICE OF VEHICLE SALE OR TRANSFER VIA EMAIL:

  • Please print and complete the Notice of Transfer Pending(Form 820).

License plates must stay with the vehicle (unless a vanity/personal plate).
