Florida requires a Notice of Sale to be submitted to them after the vehicle is picked up for donation. While this transaction will not remove your name from the database, the Title status will show "SOLD". This indicates you are no longer the owner of the vehicle and releases you from liability..

Notice of Vehicle Transfer


There are 2 ways in Florida to notify the FLHSMV that you have donated your car: in person or by mail. Currently, there is no option available online. You can find more information and forms for each notification method below:


1. TO COMPLETE THE NOTICE OF VEHICLE TRANSFER FORM IN PERSON:

  • Please print and complete the Notice of Sale Form
  • Submit to your local Tax Collector's Office. ClickHERE to locate your local field office.

2. TO COMPLETE THE NOTICE OF SALE FORM BY MAIL:

  • Please print and complete the Notice of Sale Form.

LICENSE PLATES


Please remove plates from the vehicle and surrender plates back to the State unless being transferred to another vehicle.
