Currently, CARS is unaware of any special notification requirements for Illinois. However, you may use the Seller’s Report of Sale to inform the state that you no longer own the vehicle.

Seller's Report of Sale


There are 2 ways in Illinois to notify the VSD that you have donated your car: in person or by mail. Currently, there is no option available online. You can find more information and forms for each notification method below:


1. TO COMPLETE THE SELLER'S REPORT OF SALE IN PERSON:

  • Please print and complete the Seller’s Report of Sale Form VSD-703.
