There are 3 ways in Oregon to notify the DMV-ODOT that you have donated your car: online, in person, or by mail. You can find more information and forms for each notification method below:


1. TO COMPLETE THE NOTICE OF VEHCLE SALE/TRANSFER FORM ONLINE:


*PREFERRED METHOD* If possible, we highly recommend completing forms online instead of by mail, so you may easily save and print out a copy for your records that includes a date/timestamp. Also, when completed online, a receipt can be printed ensuring it's been received.

2. TO COMPLETE THE NOTICE OF VEHCLE SALE/TRANSFER FORM IN PERSON:


  • Please print and complete the Notice of Sale or Transfer of a Vehicle Form.
  • Submit to your local DMV office. Click HERE to locate your local DMV office.

LICENSE PLATES


Currently, CARS is unaware of any special requirements in your state. Typically, this means notification is not required and you either transfer the plates to another vehicle or surrender them to your local DMV.

PLEASE BE ADVISED:


The purchaser of your donated vehicle is NOT the charity. It will either be the vendor or Charitable Adult Rides & Services.
