Title Transfer

Vermont

Currently, CARS is unaware of any special notification requirements for Vermont. Typically, this means notification is not required. However, to remove liability, license plates must be transferred or surrendered to the State Commissioner's Office.

LICENSE PLATES

Please remove the license plates from the vehicle. Plates stay with the owner and must be transferred to another vehicle or surrendered to the State Commissioner within 5 business days from the vehicle pick-up date. If you have any questions regarding the surrender or transfer of your license plates, please contact the State Commissioner's Office.
