*PLEASE NOTE: The following information is based on Oahu. We do not pick up on the big island.
Individual island regulations may have different requirements.

Vehicle Notification is REQUIRED by law (Section 286-52, Hawaii Revised Statutes) to immediately notify the Division of Motor Vehicle, Licensing and Permits when you sell or otherwise dispose of a vehicle within 10 calendar days from the vehicle pick-up date.

*Registration must be current to Transfer Ownership in Hawaii.*

There is one way in Hawaii to notify the DMV that you have donated your car: by mail. Currently, there is no option available online. You can find more information and forms for notification below:

1. TO COMPLETE THE NOTICE OF TRANSFER FORM BY MAIL:


  • Please print and complete the Notice of Transfer Form.
  • Mail the completed Notice of Transfer Form to:
